We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mediterranean Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our fine dining restaurant in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for crafting high-quality authentic dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Design and develop an authentic Mediterranean menu incorporating fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Food Preparation & Presentation: Ensure every dish meets quality standards, taste, and presentation guidelines.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Inventory & Cost Control: Manage stock levels, minimize waste, and control food costs while maintaining high quality.
Compliance & Hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and UAE health regulations.
Supplier Management: Source the best ingredients from local and international suppliers.
Innovation & Trends: Stay updated on food trends and introduce new innovative Mediterranean dishes.
Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for the kitchen staff to enhance skills and maintain consistency.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef / Executive Chef specializing in Mediterranean cuisine.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
Strong knowledge of Greek, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, and Middle Eastern flavors.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
Understanding of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Culinary degree or professional chef training is a plus.
Must be currently based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
