Medical Coder Receptionist

Job Responsibilities:

1. Handle information about patient treatment diagnosis and related procedures to ensure proper coding.
2. Read and analyze patient records.
3. Be flexible working at Reception managing insurance and claims.
4. Interact with physicians and assistants to ensure accuracy.
5. Score medical condition and services for new and established patients.
6. Follow up with insurance companies regarding required reports or information.
7. Determine the correct codes for patient records.
8. Prepare all reports and documents required by insurance companies to grant preapproval.
9. Enter and code patient services into a Daman Insurance system and generate approval letters for provided services.
10. Submit claims to insurance and follow up to see if a claim is accepted or denied.
11. Handle insurance claims and follow up on rejected claims.
12. Review and appeal denied and unpaid claims.
13. Process payments from insurance companies.
14. Work directly with the insurance company, the patient, and the medical staff to get a claim processed and ultimately paid.
15. Provide information to patients and healthcare team by answering questions and requests.
16. File and properly document patient files.
17. Keep track of patient data over multiple visits.
18. Keep track of patients' hospital admissions, ER visits, and discharges.
19. Maintain documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
20. Arrange patient files and records.
21. Conduct internal audits of PMSs home healthcare documentation.
22. Prepare and submit JAWDA KPI report.
23. Collect and save all KPI reports.
24. Maintain patient confidentiality and information security.
25. Perform Coding Audit (Tasneef) and prepare all documents required for it.
26. Ensure compliance with DOH and TASNEEF quality standards.
27. Ensure compliance with DAMAN requirements and standards.
28. Participate in policy making and decision making in relation to PMSs Rehab Center billing and coding practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Bachelor's degree in a medical-related field (Nursing, Physician, Physiotherapy).

Additional Information:

Mandatory Certification from CPC or CCS by AHIMA.

2 years experience as a medical coder.

Advanced understanding of medical terminology and administration processes.
