Mechanical Engineer - Pressure Vessel & Process Equipment

• Design & Engineering: Design pressure vessels in compliance with ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 and other relevant codes. Develop detailed engineering drawings and fabrication plans. Perform strength and stress calculations for pressure vessels.
  
• Thermal & Mechanical Systems Expertise: Must have knowledge of calorifiers, boilers, heat pumps, and other heating-related equipment. Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1, thermal efficiency, heat transfer principles, and system integration.
  
• Process & Automation: Understand process control systems and automation for pressure vessels and heating equipment. Ensure compatibility of control panel, sensors, controllers, and safety mechanisms.
  
• Procurement & Sourcing: Must have knowledge and industry relationships to procure raw materials locally at competitive rates (sheet metal, dished ends, nozzles, sensors, etc.). Evaluate suppliers for cost-effectiveness and quality compliance.
  
• Manufacturing & Welding Expertise: Oversee the fabrication process, including forming, machining, and assembly. Ensure welding procedures (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW) comply with ASME and other industry standards. Supervise welders and ensure adherence to WPS/PQR requirements.
  
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement QA/QC protocols to meet ASME, ISO, and other industry standards. Conduct inspections, hydrostatic/pneumatic tests, and documentation reviews. Ensure all fabricated equipment passes third-party inspections and certifications.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in pressure vessel design and fabrication, possessing in-depth knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 and other relevant codes. They should have hands-on expertise in calorifiers, boilers, heat pumps, and related heating equipment, along with a strong understanding of process automation and control systems. Proficiency in manufacturing processes, welding techniques (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW), material selection, and machining is essential. The candidate must also have proven procurement experience, with the ability to source sheet metal, dished ends, nozzles, sensors, and other components at competitive prices. A background in QA/QC, NDT methods, hydrostatic testing, and compliance with industry standards is required, ensuring that all fabricated equipment meets the highest quality and safety standards. Proficiency in CAD software and engineering simulations will be an added advantage.
