The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supervising the installation of mechanical systems in various projects. This includes conducting site assessments, preparing project specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a passion for problem-solving, and excellent project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Design:
Design and develop mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for construction projects.
Analyze specifications, drawings, and other technical documents to create efficient and cost-effective mechanical solutions.
Prepare detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and technical reports.
Installation and Supervision:
Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems on construction sites.
Conduct inspections and tests to ensure that mechanical systems meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams, contractors, and clients.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Develop and implement quality control procedures for mechanical systems and components.
Identify and address any potential issues during project implementation, proposing corrective actions when necessary.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall project plans.
Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials and equipment needed for projects.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, and technical documentation to clients and management.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including design changes, material specifications, and inspection reports.
Prepare and submit detailed project documentation, including as-built drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Participate in project review meetings and provide input on project planning and progress.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Min 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the contracting or construction industry.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit.
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulations related to mechanical systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
