Roles and Responsibilities
The BOD Engineer is a key role, reporting to the Sales Director, Applied Indirect Business responsible for our Indirect business across the Middle East region. The team focuses on the HVAC product portfolio specifically Chillers, Air Handling Units, and Fan Coil Units. You will be based in Dubai and will be part of a growing team that is focused on expanding our footprint and customer base to achieve our strong growth objectives. You will be targeted to have our Chillers and Airside products specified by Consultants and Installers into their bids and projects for the GCC region. You will also be supporting the existing team on value engineering, basis of design, and training on Airside & Chiller equipment. As a member of this team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to deliver our business objectives for our Middle East and Africa region.
How You Will Do It
As a BOD Engineer, you will use your technical expertise in Chillers/AHU/FCU to have the products specified by consultants. You will also be responsible for conducting training and seminars for consultants and end users in the region. You are a hunter driven to seek and develop existing business and long term customer relationships, self-motivated. You’re analytical, perseverant, determined, and reliable in your approach to work, managing multiple priorities simultaneously because of your excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- 0-1 year experience / Intern experience in a similar background
- Result-oriented, tenacious, self-motivated, customer-focused
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent language skills in English
- Ability to travel
Desired Candidate Profile
Project Oversight and Coordination
- Lead Mechanical Engineering Discipline: Responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical engineering scope of a project, ensuring alignment with the project’s overall goals and objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other disciplines (electrical, civil, structural) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall project design.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, within the mechanical engineering scope.
Design and Engineering
- Design Development: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), piping systems, machinery, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
- System Integration: Ensure the mechanical systems are properly integrated with other disciplines, such as electrical and civil engineering, and meet the required performance specifications.
- Design Reviews: Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the design team to ensure all mechanical systems comply with project requirements, codes, and standards.
Technical Expertise and Problem-Solving
- Troubleshooting: Provide technical expertise to identify and solve problems related to mechanical systems during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of the project.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and assessments to evaluate system performance, safety, and efficiency, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Design Modifications: Recommend and implement design modifications if required, based on findings or evolving project requirements.
Compliance and Standards
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical designs, systems, and processes comply with relevant local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulations.
- Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control procedures throughout the design and construction processes to ensure mechanical systems meet the specified standards of performance and safety.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation and reports for regulatory approvals, audits, or client reviews, ensuring that all design processes and outcomes are fully documented.
Project Management and Planning
- Scheduling: Develop and manage schedules for the mechanical engineering scope of the project, ensuring timely delivery of all deliverables and milestones.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Work within the project budget for mechanical engineering, ensuring cost-effective solutions and tracking expenditure to prevent overruns.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the mechanical engineering systems and proactively develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
