Mechanical Design Engineer - O&G Projects (3D / Solidworks) : Dubai

• Produce engineering documents (such as drawings, technical illustrations, reports) and ensuring they are completed within the required timescales.
• Ensure all engineering documentation is produced — Drawings, Calculations, data sheets, procedures, manuals as required.
• Coordinate with Vendor for new fabrication jobs, cost review and Documentation Issue engineering documents as required.
• Progress small and medium size engineering projects as allocated by the engineering manager or working as part of a team on larger projects.
• Provide engineering support to other departments.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and/or rig contractors as required.
• Assist materials procurement in a timely manner as dictated by the project concerned.
• Carry out other reasonable duties requested by the Engineering Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning, Development, and Execution:

• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Participate and contribute to the development of the Project Execution Process.
• Develop and follow up (as required):
• The project Execution Strategy.
• HSEQ Management.
• Cost estimate and cost control.
• Planning and scheduling.
• Reporting.

• Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the overall company strategy and team strategy.
• When identifying business opportunities, pass these on to the relevant colleagues in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong assertive character with the ability to engage with high-level customers.
• Be self-motivated and a strong Team Player.
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite, including Access, Project & Outlook as well as AutoCAD.
• Experience in an Engineering Environment.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Produce accurate work of consistent high quality and quantity.
• Able to work on own initiative.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience working in a Design Office with well-established processes in compliance with ISO 9001 and other Design Codes/Guidelines (ASME, API, DNV-GL).
• Project management within the Oil and Gas industry and/or Manufacturing/Fabrication.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in 3D Design software (specifically Solidworks) & 2D drafting software AutoCAD.
• Ability to analyze the technical information for implementation in cost-effective ways.
• Good knowledge of machine design & equipment's operations cost-effective.
• Self-starter, motivated, independent work skills, and project management skills.
• Good understanding of QHSE & Safety Management Systems.
