Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

The Role

You Will Be Responsible For

1. Have good knowledge and expertise in HVAC.
2. Responsible for the HVAC engineering design of air distribution and piping systems, including specialty mechanical systems for new and renovated buildings.
3. Prepare the design of the HVAC piping and air side systems, including the completion of code reviews and preparation of the basis of design.
4. Coordinate the work done by subcontractors.
5. Ensure effective micro-management to guarantee that the execution aligns with the design specifications.
6. Preparation of Revit CAD drawings, specification preparation, field investigations, and other design tasks as required to execute the HVAC construction.
7. Perform various HVAC-related engineering tasks through a combination of drafting and engineering, including building cooling demand load calculations, reviewing different HVAC design approaches, sizing equipment, and reviewing building energy consumption characteristics.
8. Experience with HAP/Trace/Hevacomp cooling load calculation software.
9. Develop detailed construction documents, including mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, BOQs, and control sequences.

Ideal Profile

1. Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience in HVAC system design using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, HAP).
3. Working knowledge of HVAC principles, equipment, and control systems for retail stores, offices, and F&B projects.
4. Understanding of building codes and standards related to HVAC systems.

Additional Skills (Beneficial)

1. Knowledge of sustainable design practices for HVAC systems.
2. Minimum 5-10 years of experience working on interior design and commercial/residential fit-out projects.
