Job description
Roles and responsibilities
  • Carries out and verify the correctness of installation of AC Equipment to ensure that the required operational parameters are achieved.
  • Under the supervision of AC Foreman, the job holder carries out operational functions of AC equipment.
  • Under the supervision of AC Foreman, the job holder executes testing & commissioning activities of AC equipment as and when required.
  • Trouble shoots and carries out necessary repairs of AC Equipment whenever advised by the superiors.
  • Ensures that the necessary tools and plants are available in order to perform the job.
  • Always follows the HSE requirements of the site to ensure that HSE regulations are met.

Requirements

  • Must have full awareness of A/C Equipment installation, copper pip installation, brazing of copper pipes, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of DX Systems, VRF system and roof top units, ducted split systems.
  • Chillers experience would be advantageous.
  • 05 – 10 years of installation experience of A/C Equipment – Gulf experience preferable.
  • Should have good technical skills and application skills.
  • Reading and understanding of technical manuals, catalogs etc. of English language is essential.

    • Running Tests: Performing tests on vehicles or equipment to pinpoint mechanical or electrical malfunctions, often using specialized diagnostic software or tools.
    • Analyzing Symptoms: Interpreting symptoms reported by customers or observed in equipment to diagnose the cause of mechanical issues.
  • Repairs and Maintenance:

    • Repairing Mechanical Components: Once an issue is identified, the technician repairs or replaces faulty components like engines, brakes, transmissions, or other mechanical parts.
    • Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, or filter replacements to keep vehicles or machines running smoothly.
    • Electrical and Hydraulic System Repairs: Many modern machines have complex electrical and hydraulic systems, and mechanics must be skilled in repairing or maintaining these systems in addition to traditional mechanical parts.
  • Parts Replacement:

    • Replacing Damaged or Worn Parts: Mechanic Technicians often replace parts that are beyond repair, such as belts, hoses, spark plugs, filters, and alternators.
    • Ensuring Compatibility: Ensuring that replacement parts are compatible with the vehicle or machinery being repaired and that they meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintenance Records and Documentation:

    • Maintaining Service Logs: Keeping detailed records of the services performed, parts replaced, and diagnostics conducted for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
    • Following Maintenance Schedules: Adhering to scheduled maintenance intervals, keeping track of service history, and ensuring that machines or vehicles remain in good working order.
    • Reporting to Supervisors or Clients: Communicating the nature of repairs or maintenance performed and making recommendations for future service needs.
