Winder

Job Summary:
The Generator Winder will have technical understanding and experience dealing with GE/Alstom/OOEM large Generators. He/she is responsible for on-site repair work as a Winder, performing challenging operations including examination, repair, substitution, setup, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical parts in turbine Generators with a focus on the Generator Stator and rotating Field.

Vital Duties:
As a Winder you will:

1. Execute mechanical disassembly/reassembly of generator blades in a quality and timely manner (including removal and installation of coupling, fans, keeping rings, blower centers, wedges, blocking).
2. Perform major and minor repairs on Generator Stator (End winding Repairs/Full stator Rewinds/Wedging/Applying Chemicals/RTD connections/High voltage bushing replacement and all other related repairs).
3. Conduct work using drawings, job procedures, or job orders with minimal supervision.
4. Make analysis of isolation plans and job instructions.
5. Braze either by torch, carbon, or induction.
6. Conduct all electric tests and examinations.
7. Troubleshoot electric or mechanical problems.
8. Manufacture the primary TC, adhering to standards and letter of manufacture, cutting copper strips, laying them one on top of the other, finishing them with shielding material, welding the posts, and effecting the number of turns according to the production chart.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Secondary School Diploma/GED.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience with large Generators (Air cooled/Hydrogen Cooled) stator and/or electric element winding.
3. Hands-on knowledge/experience on GE Generator models.
4. Ability and readiness to travel to sites in MEA region and worldwide.
5. Capacity and willingness to work overtime including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
6. Good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Features:

1. Experience conducting electrical testing.
2. Instruction card from a state certified instruction program.
3. Associate degree or Trade School Degree.
4. Minimum of 5 years of experience with generators and blades.
5. Minimum of 5 years of experience with assembling/dismantling end bells/keeping rings.
6. Minimum of 5 years of experience brazing either by torch, carbon, or induction.
7. Expertise in mechanics.
