Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join a well-established school in Al Ain. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering dynamic, high-quality math instruction that engages students while promoting their academic, social, and emotional development. You will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring students are challenged and inspired to develop a love for mathematics. The position involves planning and delivering lessons, tracking progress, and collaborating with staff and parents to ensure the success of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Management:
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. Establish clear classroom expectations to encourage active participation and academic growth.
- Behavior Management: Set and enforce clear behavioral expectations, maintaining a structured environment that promotes focus and discipline. Address classroom challenges promptly and fairly.
- Student Supervision: Monitor student behavior during lessons, breaks, and school events, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned math lessons that are both challenging and accessible for students. Employ a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
- Differentiated Instruction: Tailor your approach to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs or varying learning abilities.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct formative and summative assessments to track student progress. Provide constructive feedback and adjust teaching strategies based on assessment outcomes.
- Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology tools to enhance student engagement and support interactive math learning.
Student Development and Support:
- Academic Support: Identify students who require extra academic help and provide additional support as needed. Collaborate with support staff to address learning challenges and ensure academic success.
- Social-Emotional Development: Encourage the development of social-emotional skills by promoting positive relationships, self-regulation, empathy, and conflict resolution among students.
- Monitor Progress: Keep track of both academic and behavioral progress, offering regular feedback to students and parents. Create individualized improvement plans as needed.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Parent Communication: Maintain open, regular communication with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress, behavior, and any concerns. Participate in parent-teacher conferences to provide updates and address questions.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a consistent approach to student learning and well-being. Attend staff meetings and participate in school-wide initiatives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document student attendance, grades, assessments, and behavioral incidents. Submit required reports and records to school administration in a timely manner.
School Activities and Extra-Curricular Involvement:
- Engage in School Events: Participate in school functions, field trips, and extracurricular activities to support student development beyond the classroom.
- Supervision: Oversee students during school activities such as assemblies, recess, and field trips, ensuring their safety and providing guidance as needed.
Professional Development:
- Continual Learning: Stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and mathematics instruction by engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and courses.
- Collaborative Learning: Participate in team-based workshops, seminars, and meetings to share insights, improve teaching methods, and contribute to the school's educational community.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification (specific to the region or country), with ADEK approval preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience teaching mathematics, preferably at the middle or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of the mathematics curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Classroom Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively, creating a disciplined, engaging, and positive learning environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to the dynamic nature of the classroom.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using educational technology, such as learning management systems, digital tools, and interactive platforms to enhance math instruction.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage lesson plans, assessments, student records, and classroom materials effectively.
- Empathy and Patience: A patient, compassionate approach to supporting students’ academic and emotional needs.
Working Conditions:
- Work Hours: Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, [e.g., 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM], with occasional evening work for parent-teacher conferences or school events.
