Job description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee the entire lifecycle of materials across our EPC projects. The role involves item categorization, code standardization, and ensuring that material data aligns seamlessly with project, procurement, and inventory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of materials management, ERP systems, and project workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Material Lifecycle Management:
    Manage the full lifecycle of materials, from procurement and delivery to storage and utilization.
    Develop and implement material management strategies to meet project timelines and budgets.
  2. Item Categorization and Code Standardization:
    Create and maintain a robust item coding system for all project materials.
    Ensure item codes align with company standards, project specifications, and ERP system requirements.
    Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and inventory teams to standardize nomenclature.
  3. Data Integrity and System Integration:
    Ensure accurate data entry and integration into the ERP system for all material records.
    Conduct regular audits to maintain consistency and accuracy in material coding and categorization.
  4. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    Verify that materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
    Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies in material management practices.
  5. Team Collaboration and Communication:
    Act as a liaison between procurement, inventory, and project teams to address material-related challenges.
    Provide training and guidance to team members on material management best practices.
  6. Reporting and Optimization:
    Generate regular reports on material usage, inventory levels, and code accuracy.
    Identify opportunities to improve material management processes, reduce waste, and optimize costs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience: 5+ years in materials management or related fields.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, preferably in the EPC industry.
  • Expertise in item categorization, material coding, and ERP system integration.
  • Strong knowledge of material specifications, standards, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with international material standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME).
  • Certification in supply chain or materials management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in inventory management tools and lean methodologies.
