Mason

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepares and mixes materials for work according to specifications such as mortar, paste, cement, and slacking lime.
2. Plans work from blueprints or specifications, estimates, and lays out jobs and materials.
3. Documents all work performed and any materials used.
4. Determines method and sequence of work operations, quality, and size of raw stock and hardware necessary to complete the assignment.
5. Performs minor repairs to civil structures, including painting, tiling, and gypsum work.
6. Repairs or replaces concrete, terrazzo, quarry tile, wall tile, ceramic floor, and specialty floors.
7. Assists in erecting barricades and placing warning signals around work sites.
8. Operates sandblasting equipment to smooth or prepare metal, masonry, or similar surfaces.
9. Handles all duties and responsibilities of the Mason classification.
10. Mixes mortar.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar capacity.
