Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Dubai Office. The candidate is required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Perform the geotechnical design for coastal and marine projects.
  2. Liaison and coordination with other designers and internal disciplines.
  3. Attend meetings dedicated to design-related issues.
  4. Report to the Department Manager regarding work progress.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. The position requires expertise in the following areas:

  1. Planning and specifying geotechnical investigations for marine and coastal projects.
  2. Performing liquefaction analysis and related geotechnical assessments.
  3. Preparing comprehensive Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIR).
  4. Designing foundations for marine structures including shallow and deep foundations.
  5. Conducting pile driveability analyses for feasibility and design optimization.
  6. Designing retaining walls such as sheet piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, and blockwork walls.
  7. Performing stability analyses for breakwaters, seawalls, and revetment slopes.
  8. Developing ground improvement designs for reclamation and soil stabilization projects.
  9. Planning and interpreting instrumentation and monitoring data for ground improvement works.
  10. Experience in geotechnical software like PLAXIS 2D, Slope/W, Geo5, LPile, GROUP, Wallap, and GRLWEAP.
  11. Applying design codes such as Eurocodes, BS Codes, and AASHTO.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  1. Working on marine geotechnical projects in the Middle East.
  2. Familiarity with the region's geotechnical challenges including soil conditions and standards.
  3. Experience addressing geological hazards like cavities and rock falls.
  4. Interpretation of CPT and geophysical survey data.
