Job description

Develop conceptual and detailed designs for marine infrastructure, including breakwaters, quay walls, jetties, berths, revetments, dolphins, and dredging works.

  • Conduct geotechnical assessments for foundation design of marine structures.
  • Perform structural analysis for marine elements, ensuring compliance with industry codes and project specifications.
  • Perform peer review and optimize design inputs received from consultants.
  • Hydrodynamic & Coastal Engineering Studies

Specify, interpret, and analyze marine studies, including:

  • Metocean Study – Wind, wave, and current conditions analysis.
  • Wave Transformation Study – Shoreline impact and nearshore wave climate evaluation.
  • Wave Penetration Study – Analysis of wave conditions within harbors and enclosed areas.
  • Hydrodynamic Modelling Study – Simulation of tidal currents, waves, and storm surges.
  • Sediment Transport Modelling – Coastal erosion and sediment movement assessment.
  • Dredge Plume Dispersion Modelling – Impact assessment of dredging activities.
  • Ensure study results are accurately incorporated into the design of marine structures.
  • Technical Coordination & Project Execution

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, geotechnical, tender, planning, and environmental engineers) to ensure seamless project integration.

  • Provide technical guidance to support construction activities.
  • Assess and recommend construction methodologies for marine works.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards

Ensure all designs comply with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., PIANC, BS, API, Eurocode, DNV, ABS).

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project submissions when D&B or verify the input from consultants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Coastal Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in marine and coastal engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of marine hydrodynamics, wave mechanics, and sediment transport processes.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as:

Structural Analysis: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Plaxis

  • Geotechnical Analysis: Slope/W, GeoStudio, LPILE
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions quickly.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in offshore and remote project locations if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in dredging, land reclamation, and port development.
  • Knowledge of marine environmental impact assessments.
  • Familiarity with numerical modelling techniques for hydrodynamics and sediment transport.
  • Chartership or professional certification (e.g., CEng, PE, PMP) is an advantage.
