We are seeking a Managing Editor to oversee and streamline the editorial workflow across both print and digital platforms. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency, quality, and content expansion while serving as the bridge between digital and print teams.
This role is based in the MOJEH offices full-time, except during industry events and work-related travel.
Role Overview
The Managing Editor will be responsible for leading the digital editorial team, managing print workflow under the current editor, improving editorial efficiency, and ensuring that both print and digital content maintain the highest standards. They will report to the Editor-in-Chief and the Editor, working closely with both to align and enhance content strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee and manage the digital editorial team, ensuring a consistent and cohesive voice across all online content.
- Act as the primary link between the print and digital editorial teams to streamline workflows and maintain editorial excellence.
- Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Editor to execute the overall content strategy and vision for MOJEH print and digital.
- Supervise the planning and execution of digital editorial calendars to align with print content, ensuring synergy across platforms.
- Collaborate with the print editor to enhance print content quality and efficiency.
Content Development & Workflow Optimization
- Manage and optimize content production across print and digital, ensuring deadlines are met and content output is maximized.
- Oversee the assignment, editing, and final approval of digital articles, ensuring quality, accuracy, and engagement.
- Implement best practices to improve content efficiency without compromising creativity and editorial integrity.
- Work with digital editors, writers, and multimedia teams to expand digital storytelling, incorporating video, social media, and new formats.
- Ensure the seamless integration of digital-first content into MOJEH’s editorial ecosystem.
Team Management & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the digital editorial team, ensuring they stay aligned with MOJEH’s vision and brand.
- Work closely with the social media, marketing, and design teams to ensure content performance and brand growth.
- Collaborate with advertising and commercial teams to balance editorial integrity with sponsored content opportunities.
Performance & Innovation
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital content, leveraging analytics to enhance engagement and reach.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, proposing new content strategies and formats that drive audience growth.
- Work with the digital team to refine SEO strategies and enhance audience acquisition efforts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in editorial roles, with a strong background in both digital and print publishing.
- Experience in luxury and fashion publishing.
- Proven leadership experience managing editorial teams and workflows.
- Strong understanding of digital media trends, audience engagement strategies, and content performance analytics.
- Exceptional editing, writing, and storytelling skills, with a luxury fashion and lifestyle background preferred.
- Ability to balance creativity with efficiency, ensuring high editorial output without sacrificing quality.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-end media environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with print, digital, marketing, and commercial teams.
- Familiarity with SEO, CMS platforms, social media strategies, and multimedia content production is a plus.
