Manager - Sharia Product Development and Research

Support and facilitate the entire product development cycle from Sharia perspective which includes, identification of suitable Sharia structure, determination of required documentations and processes, in line with department standards. To support related Dar Al Sharia tasks or activities assigned by the Line Manager.

Review concept note of proposed products, key commercial objectives and identify potential Sharia issues in the proposal.

Propose suitable Sharia structure, determine required product documentation, IT system requirement from Sharia compliance perspective and identify other Sharia related operational or implementation requirements.

Liaise with the ISSC to explain, clarify the product concept and obtain Sharia approval / guidance.

Explain approved Sharia structures, documentation and required process from Sharia compliance perspective to product development, IT team and other relevant stakeholders.

Assist product team develop product programs / relevant policy and procedure documents in accordance with the guidance of the ISSC and Higher Sharia Authority (HSA).

Conduct the review of accounting entries, marketing materials and provide feedback in accordance with the guidance of the ISSC and Higher Sharia Authority (HSA).

Pursuit the implementation of Sharia guidance of the ISSC and Higher Sharia Authority (HSA) with respect to the relevant product.

Groom subordinates in order to improve their capability and skills.

Ensure compliance with the approved policies, procedures, SLAs and regulatory requirements to maintain quality standards and ensure risk mitigation.

Ensure all assigned tasks and projects are executed within the approved policies, procedures and SLAs of the department.

All the above accountabilities including but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.

Education

Bachelor Degree in banking and finance with knowledge of Sharia.

Master Degree in Islamic banking and finance (preferable).

Work Experience

Minimum 6-8 years' experience in Sharia structuring and or Sharia compliant products development.
