The Manager of Program Governance & Business Resilience is responsible for establishing and enforcing governance policies and SOPs to ensure compliance across finance, HR, and technology operations. They identify and mitigate operational risks, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and drive workflow improvements, using automation tools and industry best practices to enhance efficiency. The role involves developing contingency plans for operational disruptions and leading crisis response efforts, ensuring business continuity and rapid resolution of urgent issues. Additionally, they monitor risk trends, adjust governance models, and facilitate cross-team problem-solving to mitigate risks affecting program execution and resource allocation.
Responsibilities
- Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce business unit governance policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring alignment with contractual, regulatory, and internal policy compliance.
- Operational Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks across finance, HR, and technology, implementing strategies to reduce bottlenecks and operational delays.
- Process Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and implement workflow improvements, driving continuous improvement initiatives and incorporating automation tools and industry best practices.
- Operational Audits & Reviews: Conduct regular operational audits and process documentation reviews to ensure policies are followed and processes are scalable.
- Crisis & Incident Management: Develop contingency plans for operational disruptions and lead response efforts in escalations, risk mitigation, and crisis management, ensuring business continuity.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate cross-team problem-solving workshops and resolution frameworks to address program execution challenges and operational issues.
- Risk Monitoring & Adjustment: Monitor risk trends, assess impact on operations and resource allocation, and adjust governance models accordingly to ensure smooth program execution.
- Business Resilience: Establish and maintain best practices for crisis response and business continuity planning, ensuring rapid resolution of urgent challenges impacting the business unit.
Qualifications
(a) Required skills / qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 8+ Years of Program/Project Management Experience: Proven track record of managing complex programs, ideally in governance, business continuity, or operational risk management. Skilled in overseeing workforce planning, talent acquisition, and optimizing team performance.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Experience in using data analytics and reporting tools to monitor risks, track performance, and guide operational decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Minimum of 2 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, finance, technology) to resolve operational challenges and implement governance frameworks.
(b) Preferred skills / qualifications
- Process Improvement Methodologies: Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt/Green Belt), or Agile frameworks.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks, particularly across finance, HR, and technology domains.
- Proficiency in using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms to track and analyze operational metrics.
- Proven experience in conducting operational audits, reviewing processes, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
