About the Role:

We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated and strategic Manager - Policy Development to join our dynamic team. As a pivotal contributor, this role will focus on crafting, executing, and managing policy frameworks that align with our corporate governance and operational excellence. This position represents an exceptional opportunity to influence the strategic direction of GMG by ensuring our policies not only comply with legislative requirements but also support our mission of making the world better.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Policy Development:
  • Lead the creation and revision of policy documents to reflect external regulatory changes and internal strategic shifts.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the business to ensure policy alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Facilitate risk assessments to identify areas requiring new policies or updates to existing policies.
Policy Implementation and Oversight:
  • Oversee the implementation of policies across all levels of the organization, ensuring compliance and understanding.
  • Develop and deliver training and communication plans to support the roll-out of new or revised policies.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with policies, conducting regular reviews and audits.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure policies are legally compliant and effectively mitigate risk.
  • Engage in consultations with external stakeholders on policy matters as appropriate.
  • Manage internal communication strategies to keep all employees informed and engaged with GMG’s policy framework.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in policy development, with a minimum of 8 years in a similar role, ideally within retail or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape relevant to our business operations.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • A bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ethos of continuous improvement and innovation.
