Job description

The Manager, Financial and Commercial Optimization will provide portfolio management, investment and strategy support in reviewing projects and finance documents, conducting due diligence on brown and green field projects. Support to achieve extension, financing and refinancing of projects and participate in the evaluation and cross function discussions and prepare material for the management.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with HQ and business policies and standards.
  • Provide support in the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies for new and ongoing investment and project finance activities.
  • Conduct financial and commercial due diligence on potential investments within the energy sector.
  • Review and provide comments and inputs on the project documents and financial documents.
  • Structure and negotiate financing term sheet and agreements with lenders and investors.
  • Review the financial modelling of the investments and or for financing of the projects, including conducting valuation and sensitivity analysis.
  • Work with other members within the generation team and business partner to get their inputs and reflect them in the key project and finance documents.
  • Conduct commercial analysis and engage in negotiations with stakeholders to address challenges that may arise at various stages of the projects.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and risks to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on review/evaluation of business development and refinancing business cases.
  • Understand and review financial models to determine the impact on investment returns for proposed activities, such as extending PWPA, refinancing, negotiating LTSA, or any other important matter that requires shareholder involvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Business Administration or equivalent
  • 8 years of relevant working experience within utilities or related industry
