Job Overview:
The Manager Construction (Fab) role requires an in-depth understanding of Construction concepts, theories, and principles and basic knowledge of other related disciplines. The Manager Construction (Fab) must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the Construction discipline as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact effectiveness. The Manager Construction (Fab) impacts the level of service and the Construction team's ability to meet quality and timeliness objectives. Policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan should guide decisions made by the Manager Construction (Fab).
Responsibilities:
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate detailed engineering and construction activities in both Greenfield & Brownfield Project environments, in line with PMT expectations on HSE, Quality, Technical requirements, and Execution performance
- Assist the Project Manager
- Ensure project schedule is followed and report progress
- Coordinate all construction and sub-contractor work activities
- Ensure company policies with regard to safety are enforced
- Ensure all construction work is performed to company and regulatory body standards
- Ensure that all inter-craft interface issues are resolved in a timely manner and in accordance with specifications
- Liaise with the regulatory body for work inspections
- Control and keep records of Time & Material receipts and time sheets
- Report any project concerns to the Project Manager
- Audit all company and sub-contractor QA/QC procedures
- Document and issue periodic reports on work progress to the project manager
- Coordinate all commissioning test work
- Monitor and document communications with crafts/sub-contractors on technical issues
- Compile documentation related to QA/QC matters
- Assist the Project Manager with change management issues
- Manage the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment, and coaching
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent related education/experience
- Minimum of 10 years construction experience; 3 years in CM role; minimum one major project
- High level of knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of construction detailed work planning processes and procedures
- Knowledge of lump sum business model
- Experience with modular fabrication
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
