Job description

The Manager, Career Development is responsible for designing and overseeing programs that support the career growth and development of employees at all levels with a focus on enterprise level and functional skill requirements.

This role focuses on fostering a learning culture, by helping employees align their career and professional goals with organisational skill needs. It will play a key role in helping shape Etihad’s future learning strategy and supporting the business in adopting a skills-based learning mindset. The individual will be responsible for partnering with key business areas to identify current and future skill requirements that support Etihad in achieving its growth ambitions over the next 4-5 years. This includes conducting learning needs analysis to assess current skill gaps, designing associated skills/competency-based learning pathways and sourcing/curating relevant learning content/programs. Identifying and implementing appropriate career tools for employees to take accountability for their own career development will also be a key focus.

In addition, this role will ensure that we have processes in place to assess the impact of any learning programs/interventions and ensure we can demonstrate a business return on investment.

Accountabilities

  • Design and implement career/skills-based development programs, including people management basics, digital literacy, financial/commercial acumen, and aviation specific skills ie: Revenue & Commercial.
  • Establish clear career paths for identified employee personas/roles, identifying the necessary skills, experiences, and milestones to achieve growth.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to HRBPs/employees at all levels, helping them define and achieve their career goals.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of career development/skills-based initiatives by tracking participation, progress, and outcomes.
  • Partner with other departments such as HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and Process, Data & Technology (PDT) to ensure career development programs are aligned with divisional objectives.
  • Help create a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through using best practice approaches to skills-based learning program design.
  • Work with learning content providers to evaluate/source content and work with the Learning Delivery team on content/module design where appropriate.
  • Manage external learning related vendor relationships and ensure following appropriate internal Procurement protocols and Etihad is getting value from the agreements in place.
  • Deploy best practice learning evaluation methods and conduct program impact assessment analysis.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources or Organisational Development or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in designing and deploying enterprise-wide learning and skills-based programs.
  • Broad knowledge of best-in-class learning technologies, including Success Factors and Learning Experience platforms.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
  • Business acumen and the ability to understand and align learning design, delivery and assessment practices with business goals.
