About the Role

The Accountant - Management Accounts & Reporting is responsible for maintaining proper General Ledger accounting and reconciliations, Handling Internal and External Audits, Preparing financial budgeting and planning activities according to international principles and CERT policies and procedures, Able to perform monthly VAT and corporate tax related activities as required by the group.

Responsibilities -

  • Maintain All group GL account and regular basis reconciliations.
  • Prepare Monthly VAT reports.
  • Prepare and Maintain corporate tax related schedule and liase with authorities for filing of tax return.
  • Maintain proper Fixed Assets Records for the Group.
  • Assist in the physical verification of the stock and Fixed Assets.
  • Conduct budget preparations and monitor the budgeting process for the fiscal year working with all CERT divisions and the compilation of all Divisions and departments’ budgets.
  • Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Assist in monitoring the utilization of capital, operating budget and workforce spending.
  • Monitor the yearly schedule for Management Accounts Department for the budget process.
  • Assist in coordinating and consolidating the annual operating, capital, maintenance and workforce budgets, and ensure the timely preparation of a master budget.
  • Assist in the reviewing of budget versus actual performance.
  • Participate as required in the meetings with division and departments leads held for discussing their budget proposals.
  • Assist supervisors in monitoring CERT divisions to ensure that cost allocation is made to the appropriate accounts on the basis of the approved budget and the manual of operating expenditure.
  • Ensure that the commitments/accruals of capital/operating expenditure are in accordance with financial regulations.
  • Assist in the distribution of yearly budget templates in line with budget time schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports including preparation of monthly management reports, mid-year reviews etc.
  • Prepare ad-hoc, internal and external reports accurately and on time.
  • Perform Budget upload process in the accounting system.
  • Assist in the finalization and management of sponsored research Projects Budget.
  • Support internal and external auditors responding to audit queries.
  • Actively follow and promote all CERT policies and procedures.
  • Develop schedules and reconciliation statements for annual audits and assist Head of Finance in the completion of annual audits when required.
  • Perform other tasks and duties that may be from time to time required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the Centre.

Qualifications - Education details

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any other related field.
  • A certification in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is preferable (e.g. CFA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Normally three years of relevant work experience.
  • Computer proficiency/skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
