About the Role - The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise a team of maintenance technicians in performing repairs and maintenance on excavators. They will develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance, conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards, and monitor equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise a team of maintenance technicians in performing repairs and maintenance on earth-moving equipment, particularly excavators.
2. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance.
3. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify any potential hazards.
4. Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and spare parts inventory.
6. Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
7. Foster and encourage a safety-first operating environment while adhering to company Health & Safety Guidelines.
8. Recruit, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
9. Monitor and evaluate the performance of maintenance technicians, providing feedback and performance reviews as required.
10. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance processes.

Qualifications

1. Qualified and certified diesel earth-moving mechanic.
2. Caterpillar and Komatsu computer diagnostics training certificates would be beneficial.
3. AMT and FMS system knowledge would be highly advantageous.
4. Proven experience in supervising maintenance operations, preferably in a heavy equipment or mining/quarrying industry.
5. Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices and equipment repair techniques.
6. Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and maintenance compliance standards.
7. Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and managing maintenance activities.
8. Experience in diagnostics and fault finding.
9. Physically fit and strong (must be able to lift 20 kgs).
10. Fluent in English.
11. Valid driving license.
