Position Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the maintenance operations for our restaurant locations. The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities are properly maintained to meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all restaurant facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Coordinate with restaurant managers to plan maintenance activities while minimizing disruptions to operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and select qualified vendors and contractors for maintenance services.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively address potential issues and minimise downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting:
- Coordinate repairs and troubleshooting efforts for equipment malfunctions, facility issues, and other maintenance concerns.
- Ensure that repairs are completed promptly and effectively to minimize disruptions to restaurant operations.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, including forecasting expenses and monitoring spending.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in maintenance operations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to facility maintenance and safety.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for employees and guests.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Generate reports on maintenance performance, trends, and expenditures for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance coordination, facilities management, or a similar role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of building systems, equipment maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to facility maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
