Roles and responsibilities

The Technical Maintenance Assistant will be reporting directly to the Field Line Manager – HVAC, Aftermarket. As part of the HVAC Aftermarket team, you will be based in Abu Dhabi and will help the Technical team in install, service, repair and carry out preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems and equipment such as Centrifugal chiller, cooling tower, Pumps, heat exchanger cleaning and servicing.


How You Will Do It

As a Technical Maintenance Assistant you will focus on maintenance and repair within set timeframe and according to defined process, service agreements and customer needs. You will complete planned site / customer visits and resolves customer request / calls as dispatched. You will develop positive customer relationships, ensures pro-active feedback on and documentation of the customer’s equipment and systems status and of work completed.

What we look for

  1. Good product knowledge and overall system understanding
  2. Minimum 3 Years’ Experience
  3. High school education with 2 years Air conditions and refrigeration trade certificate
  4. Knowledge in servicing, maintenance of cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers
  5. Technical knowledge on HVAC systems mostly on Chillers, Brazing, Vacuum, Pressure Test
  6. Ability to read and understand electrical single line diagrams of HVAC systems
  7. Document’s work completed in a clear and concise way and promptly submits service reports.
  8. Ensures compliance with environmental and industry regulations, where required.
  9. In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined
  10. Fluent language skills in English

Desired candidate profile

1. Technical Knowledge

  • Basic Technical Skills: Understanding the principles of mechanics, electronics, or IT systems, depending on the industry. This could include knowledge of electrical circuits, machinery, HVAC systems, or computer hardware.
  • Equipment Understanding: Familiarity with the types of equipment and machinery the company uses, such as HVAC units, generators, pumps, conveyor systems, or computer servers.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Assisting in the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the risk of equipment failures and prolong the lifespan of machinery.

2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

  • Issue Identification: Helping identify and diagnose problems with equipment or systems, ensuring problems are recognized early before they escalate.
  • Basic Repairs: Assisting in repairing or replacing faulty components or systems under the guidance of more experienced technicians or engineers.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, software tools) to help identify malfunctions and analyze the root causes of technical problems.

3. Equipment Maintenance

  • Routine Inspections: Conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks on equipment, machinery, or infrastructure to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Cleaning and Servicing: Performing basic cleaning, lubricating, and servicing tasks to maintain equipment and prevent wear and tear.
  • Parts Replacement: Assisting in the replacement of worn-out parts or components, ensuring they are replaced with the correct specifications and without compromising safety.

4. Safety Compliance

  • Adherence to Safety Protocols: Following safety regulations and guidelines when performing maintenance tasks to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wearing the appropriate PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, or ear protection, when performing maintenance tasks.
  • Safe Handling of Tools and Materials: Using tools and materials safely, ensuring that any hazardous materials are handled and disposed of in line with safety regulations.

5. Record Keeping and Documentation

  • Maintenance Logs: Recording maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replaced, in maintenance logs or computerized systems.
  • Service Reports: Preparing and submitting service reports detailing the maintenance performed, any issues discovered, and recommendations for further actions.
  • Inventory Management: Assisting in managing parts inventory, ensuring that the necessary tools and replacement parts are available for maintenance tasks.

6. Communication and Collaboration

  • Teamwork: Working closely with senior technicians, engineers, and other team members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Reporting Issues: Reporting any complex issues or failures to the senior technicians or engineers for further analysis and resolution.
  • Clear Communication: Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and potentially with clients, to keep everyone informed about the status of maintenance tasks.
