We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor with a background in managing both Conventional (Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Blade Grinding) and CNC Machines, specifically in the casting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of productivity, quality, and safety, while effectively managing a team of skilled machinists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of Conventional Machinists (Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Blade Grinding) and CNC operators in the Machine Shop department.
- Ensure optimal machine utilization, quality control, and adherence to production schedules.
- Implement and maintain SOPs for machine operation, maintenance, and quality checks across both conventional and CNC machinery.
- Coordinate with other departments (Quality, Maintenance, etc.) to address production issues and machine downtime.
- Conduct training sessions for team members to improve skill levels and enhance production output.
- Monitor inventory levels for tools and consumables used in machining operations.
- Maintain health and safety standards in the workshop.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Machine Shop Supervisor in the casting industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with Conventional Machines including Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Blade Grinding, and CNC machines.
- Sound knowledge of casting processes, machining techniques, and quality control methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Proficiency in machine programming and troubleshooting CNC machines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production planning and workflow optimization.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
Educational Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
