The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the logistics and supply chain operations of an organization. This includes managing transportation, inventory, and warehousing activities to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Management :
Plan, organize, and oversee daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Ensure the timely delivery of goods to customers or end-users while maintaining quality standards.
Monitor and optimize routing and scheduling to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Team Supervision :
Supervise logistics staff, including drivers, warehouse workers, and clerks, to ensure smooth operations.
Train and mentor team members on safety, operational procedures, and company policies.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve team productivity.
Inventory Management :
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure stock availability.
Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure accurate inventory records.

Transportation Coordination :
Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Compliance and Safety :
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations for transportation and logistics.
Implement and enforce safety protocols for staff and goods handling.
Oversee the proper handling of hazardous materials and ensure appropriate documentation.
Process Optimization :
Identify inefficiencies in logistics operations and recommend improvements.
Implement technologies and systems to streamline processes and improve tracking and reporting.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics activities.
Customer Service :
Communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to logistics or delivery delays.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to enhance service quality.
Reporting and Documentation :
Prepare and maintain detailed reports on logistics activities, including delivery performance and costs.
Ensure all shipping and inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.

Qualifications And Skills
Education : Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
Experience :
3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills :
Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, including transportation and warehousing.
Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, WMS, TMS).
