JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee and manage all operational and logistical aspects of ultra-luxury villa construction projects in an island/marine environment. The role ensures seamless coordination of supply chains, resource allocation, and site operations while maintaining strict adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This position is pivotal in managing complex operational and logistical challenges inherent to remote or coastal project settings.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operational Oversight:
- Develop and implement operational strategies for managing construction activities in a challenging island setting environment.
- Coordinate site activities to ensure smooth integration of civil works, landscaping, interior fit-out, FF&E, and MEP installations.
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows to optimize on-site productivity.
Logistics Management:
- Design and manage comprehensive logistics plans for the transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel to island site locations.
- Oversee the barge, jetty, procurement, shipping, and delivery of high-value and bespoke materials, ensuring timely arrival and optimal storage.
- Manage inventory systems to track materials and prevent delays or shortages.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to maintain a seamless supply chain.
- Negotiate contracts with logistics providers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable services.
- Address supply chain disruptions proactively, adapting plans to minimize project impacts.
Resource Planning and Allocation:
- Develop resource plans, including labor, materials, and equipment, tailored to project timelines and requirements.
- Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of equipment and teams for efficient site operations.
- Monitor and optimize resource utilization to align with project milestones.
Stakeholder and Team Management:
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and client representatives to ensure operational alignment with project goals.
- Lead and mentor logistics teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Resolve operational issues swiftly, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in sensitive coastal or marine environments.
- Conduct risk assessments to address logistical and operational challenges, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Manage permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals required for material transportation and construction activities.
Cost and Performance Monitoring:
- Track and control logistics and operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular operational and logistics reports to the Management and stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Logistics, or related fields. Advanced certifications in logistics or project management (e.g., PMP, CLTD) are a plus.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in operations and logistics management within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in luxury or high-end villa projects. Proven experience managing logistics in remote or challenging environments, such as in an island/marine settings.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with construction operations, materials, and supply chain processes. Strong understanding of coastal or marine-specific logistical challenges. Proficiency in logistics software and project management tools (e.g., SAP, MS Project, Primavera).
