About the Job

A Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement, distribution, and storage of goods and materials. They ensure that products are delivered efficiently and on time, balancing supply chain needs with cost-effective methods.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supply Chain Management: Oversee the procurement, transportation, and storage of goods from suppliers to consumers.
• Inventory Control: Ensure adequate stock levels, organize inventory systems, and conduct regular audits to avoid overstock or stockouts.
• Transportation Management: Manage the transportation of goods, choosing the best modes of transport (e.g., truck, air, sea), and ensuring deliveries are on time and cost-effective.
• Coordination with Suppliers and Vendors: Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers to maintain smooth operations.
• Compliance: Ensure all logistical activities comply with safety regulations and legal requirements, including international shipping regulations, when applicable.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze logistics data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Prepare regular reports on logistics operations and performance.
• Problem-Solving: Handle any issues that arise during the transportation or storage process, such as delays, damaged goods, or errors in shipment.
• Team Supervision: Depending on the organization, the logistics officer may supervise a team of logistics coordinators or warehouse staff.

What are we looking for

• Proven logistics experience in receiving and shipping activities within a warehouse environment.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems, with specific expertise in Warehouse Management functionality.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members to streamline warehouse operations.
• Experienced in inspecting incoming goods for quality and quantity and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Aviation Experience (Preferred)
