FMCG IMPORTS EXPERIENCE IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THIS POSITION
Complete knowledge of Air and Sea import clearance procedure including tracking of ETA for each shipment.
Well-versed with clearing portals including Dubai Trade - Mirsal II.
Well-versed with the Dubai Municipality portal for FIRS creation and follow-up with authority for the discrepancy.
Knowledge of Montagi Clearance.
Clear understanding of MOFA, EDAS, Duty Exemption permits.
FTA approvals for clearance on dutiable items.
Handling logistical operations including setting up of drivers’ schedule to bring all the shipments (airport and seaport) to the warehouse and vice versa.
Strong understanding on costing to ensure all the charges incurred on the shipment are booked correctly and timely in the ERP.
Coordination with shipping line for LCL, DO collection, BL type and freight charges.
Liaising with 3PL for LCL collection.
Coordination with DP World authority for token issuance for container in and out activity.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is essential for understanding complex logistics processes.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in import logistics and customs clearance, showcasing a deep understanding of industry dynamics.
Certifications in Customs Compliance or Professional Logistics (e.g., CCLP, LCB) are highly desirable for enhanced credibility.
Experience working in the import sector of the FMCG e-commerce or retail industry will give candidates an edge in understanding specific challenges.
Preference for candidates with familiarity in regional customs regulations and international trade laws to ensure compliance.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional language relevant to the trade region is a strong advantage.
Strong analytical skills to assess shipping data and identify cost-saving opportunities in the logistics process.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with vendors, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
Proactive problem-solving abilities to address issues swiftly and maintain operational flow during customs clearance.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines efficiently.
