Logistics Coordinator - Dubai

Description Job Summary

The logistics coordinator is responsible for the movement of domestic and international goods in compliance with local and international law. This role requires knowledge of all possible movement constraints for Ocean, Air, or Land modes of transport and understanding of hazardous movements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinating pre-shipping instructions and working with service provider(s) on movements.
2. Coordinating orders for the shipment of cargo from point of origin to point of destination, ensuring products meet required delivery in the most efficient method.
3. Interfacing with customers to keep them apprised of progress.
4. Maintaining all files per shipping requirements.
5. Gathering data on the value of the service provider and analyzing the business’s short-term needs while planning the movement of shipments.
6. Using logistics systems to perform job duties and ensure correct and timely movement transactions.
7. Recording data measurements to help follow trends to identify alternative ways to improve moves and logistics services for the economic benefit of Superior.
8. Packing, marking, labeling, and measuring cargo to provide accurate weight & dimensions.
9. Assisting F&A (finance and accounting) with the validation of rates and charges on invoices.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct freight bidding for the respective mode of transport.
2. Maintain shipping records and all commercial documents.
3. Scrutinize shipping invoices against agreed rate contracts, prices, etc.
4. Perform administrative duties (including documents distribution/collecting/filing).
5. Update and compile logistics-related monthly reports.
6. Receive shipments electronically in the ERP system.
7. Assist in the preparation of documents and printing shipping documents for signing.
8. Assist in the preparation of documents for proof of export (Bill of Lading / Commercial Invoice / Export Bayan).
9. Expedite deliveries of goods.
10. Assist in operational gate pass creation for inbound/outbound cargo.
11. Perform any other related logistics/Supply Chain duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
12. Deliver quality reports and commercial documents with minimum supervision.

Qualifications

1. College education preferred – 2-year degree or 4 years undergraduate degree in supply chain, engineering/applied math, finance/accounting or business preferred.
2. Four years related experience in logistics, warehouse, or operations environment or a four-year degree plus 2 years work experience required.
3. Computer proficiency in software applications to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
4. Valid UAE Driving License preferred.
