Job Title: Logistics Coordinator (Shipping/Maritime)

About the role
Our client, a global leader in marine equipment and infrastructure seeks a Logistics Coordinator to manage shipping operations for projects in the Middle East and Europe.
This role involves coordinating transportation, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to regulations and optimizing costs.
The ideal candidate possesses 3-5 years of logistics experience, preferably in the marine sector, and strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
In this role, you will manage all shipping operations for our project-based contracts, ensuring shipments arrive safely, on time, without damage, and within budget.
This role is Dubai based, however some domestic travel may be required, based on business needs.
Job functions of this role:
- Shipping Operations Management: Overseeing and facilitating all shipping operations for projects, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Documentation and Compliance: Preparing and managing shipping documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and international trade laws.
- Coordination and Communication: Coordinating with various stakeholders, including shipping agents, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth logistics operations
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Create shipping documents such as Bill of Entry, Invoice & Packing List, etc.
- Negotiate and book with Shipping Agents / Freight Forwarders.
- Coordinate with Shipping Agents/Freight Forwarders.
- Coordinate with material suppliers (internal and external).
- Plan and track shipments according to customer requirements.
- Prepare monthly reports for upper management and the finance team.
- Handle and supervise packing and loading activities.
- Support the sales team with shipping estimates and quotes.
- Calculate and provide container quantity requirements for each project.
- Support Project Manager with documentation submission as required
- Support Procurement officer with documentation preparation as required
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics or supply chain.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in logistics roles or equivalent, in the marine (or related) sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of finance, shipping import/export laws, etc.
- Strong lateral thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Understanding of shipping principles, ISO 9001 principles, and supply chain.
- Ability to track multiple processes and projects.
- Experience in customer service.
