Load Master Support Manager

Job Purpose

About the Role:

As a Cargo Load Master Support Manager you will effectively manage Load Master activities to ensure adherence to weight and balance procedures, safe handling of special cargo during loading and unloading operations, and attainment of requisite approvals and permits in alignment with OEM manuals, company operational manuals, and international regulatory standards.

What you will do:

1. Manage load master activities and ensure the right people with the right skills are assigned at the right time to accomplish the work that needs to be done.
2. Responsible for the training, rostering, and performance evaluation of Load Masters.
3. Ensure training and recurrent training such as weight and balance, safety, and emergency procedures, first aid, documentation and handling of dangerous goods are valid and carried out regularly.
4. First line of escalation contacts for operational and weight & balance issues related to freighter both in Dubai and outstations.
5. Coach load master on the floor on how to implement provided solutions and tools for loading and unloading of over-sized cargo according to the provided calculations.
6. Lead investigations related to load master’s operations, highlight findings and proposed solutions to Manager Cargo Ground Operations Load Engineering in order to assist in reviewing and action risk analysis related to oversized cargo loading/handling activities.
7. Perform audit (line check) of Load Master activities both in Dubai and outstation to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
8. Essential function involves meticulously reviewing Load Master procedures, documentation, and adherence to regulations.
9. Manage the Load Master team on non-routine and exceptional issues e.g. diversions/charters, acting as a subject matter expert for CDM NCC and other operational stakeholders, also providing quality solutions in high pressure situations to help daily operations get back on track.
10. Ensure all safety incidents and accidents are investigated effectively, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations including SMS and IOSA.

Qualifications & Experience

This job might be for you if you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification.
• 5+ Years experience in Logistics/Cargo/Air Cargo.
• Experience in Aircraft freighter Load Master Operations including cargo load planning and ramphandling.

You'll have an edge if you possess:

• Experience in freighter load master activities with a major international airline or ground handler.
• Trained in Load Master / Weight and Balance, Ramp Handling, Dangerous Goods Handling / Cargo Operations Engineering and preferably trained in Rigid and Piercing Cargo approvals and authorisations.
• Must hold current and valid load master / weight and balance licence for EK freighter aircraft.
• Experience in monitoring KPIs, SLAs, continuous improvement projects, etc.
• Demonstrable ability to find solutions to conflicts and irregularities.
• Proven ability to act as an effective coach/mentor.
• Good knowledge of related aircraft engineering functions, aircraft regulatory requirements, and related computer systems.
