Light Vehicle DriverChargehand

We are seeking a skilled and responsible Light Vehicle Driver/Chargehand to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating light vehicles while also providing leadership and guidance to a team of drivers. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate light vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Lead and supervise a team of drivers, assigning tasks and coordinating daily operations.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods or passengers to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain vehicle safety and performance.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and any incidents or delays.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and passengers.
• Assist in training new drivers and promoting safe driving practices.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Collaborate with dispatch and logistics teams to optimize routes and schedules.
• Handle administrative tasks related to vehicle operations and team management.

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a light vehicle driver.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations in the UAE.
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety.
• Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
• Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns in Dubai and surrounding areas.
• Defensive driving certification is a plus.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
• Physical ability to lift and handle packages or assist passengers as needed.
