Job Description

Job Summary:

The Life Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, employees, and property by maintaining, inspecting, and repairing life safety systems. This role involves working with fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire suppression systems, and other critical safety equipment. The technician ensures compliance with safety regulations, performs routine inspections, and assists in emergency preparedness planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and other life safety equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and building codes.

  • Respond to system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or coordinate with vendors for maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and compliance reports.

  • Assist in fire drills, emergency response planning, and safety training for hotel staff.

  • Monitor and manage safety-related work orders and ensure timely resolution.

  • Coordinate with fire departments, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to management.

  • Support hotel expansion, renovation, and construction projects by ensuring compliance with life safety requirements.

  • Stay updated on new safety technologies, regulations, and best practices.

Desired Skill & Expertise

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fire safety or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire safety, building maintenance, or related fields.

  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and life safety regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety codes.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies in a timely manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
