Job Purpose: This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled paralegal or junior lawyer to join the Group Legal – Finance team. Our finance team is responsible for supporting Emirates and dnata with all their financing requirements. This includes but is not limited to, aviation finance and corporate finance. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail. This role will be reporting to the Assistant General Counsel (Finance).
In this role, you will:
Work closely with (i) internal stakeholders such as Treasury, Finance, Engineering and dnata, (ii) commercial counterparties, (iii) external law firms and (iv) government entities.
Assist the Associate General Counsel in reviewing, drafting and negotiating finance transaction documentation.
Prepare and maintain conditions precedent checklists.
Prepare and coordinate the execution of conditions precedent with the relevant internal stakeholders.
Assist the Associate General Counsel in identifying and clearly communicating legal and operational risks, and provide practical advice to mitigate such risks.
Attend aircraft deliveries in Seattle and Toulouse on an as needed basis.
Assist with updating and maintaining Fleet Database, the Emirates aircraft Group Legal system, which is maintained by our team.
Assist with post-closing formalities, to include internal and external communication.
Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
Recognised paralegal qualification with current certification; or
Qualified in a common law jurisdiction (with 1-3 years post qualification experience);
Previous experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.
Legal/Legal Administration role: 8+ Years (if not qualified)
Strong academic background and excellent English language skills.
