What does a Legal Officer in Etihad do?
The following (without limitation) form part of the Legal Officer’s accountabilities:
providing appropriate legal and administrative support to all levels of EY’s Legal Department;
assisting the Legal Department lawyers with reviewing, commenting and drafting legal documents;
providing support to Legal Department lawyers in day to day administrative matters within the Legal Department;
performing administrative tasks including: filing documents, organising and maintaining files, updating databases and standard agreements, handling external counsel billing and invoicing, execution of legal documents, maintaining list ongoing legal matters, schedule meetings etc; and
working as a proactive team member within the Legal Department;
How can you qualify?
have worked in house or within a law firm for no less than 2 years (or if from a legal secretarial / personal / administrative assistant background, no less than 5 years);
desirable to have an LL.B. (or equivalent) from a reputable university in a common law jurisdiction such as England & Wales, Australia, New York, New Zealand or Ontario;
desirable to be a qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction such as England & Wales, Australia, New York, New Zealand or Ontario and preferably maintain a current practicing certificate or equivalent;
be fluent in spoken and written English;
have experience of conducting legal research;
it would be advantageous to have shorthand and/or dictation experience; and,
desirable have worked in an airline.
