Job description

As a Legal Counsel specializing in Logistics and eCommerce, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the logistics and eCommerce industries. Your main duties will include drafting and reviewing contracts, negotiating agreements with third parties, and advising on data protection and privacy issues. You will also be involved in assessing and mitigating legal risks, resolving disputes, and staying up-to-date on legal developments that may impact the business. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree, be a licensed attorney, and have proven experience working in logistics and eCommerce sectors. Effective communication and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on logistics and eCommerce matters, including contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Review and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, such as vendor contracts, service agreements, and distribution agreements.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the logistics and eCommerce industry, and advise the business accordingly.
  • Manage and oversee litigation matters related to logistics and eCommerce, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
  • Conduct legal research on specific issues affecting the company's operations in the logistics and eCommerce sectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and compliance, to ensure legal risks are identified and managed effectively.
  • Assist in developing and implementing compliance programs and training initiatives for employees in the logistics and eCommerce departments.
  • Participate in negotiations and due diligence processes for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Provide support and guidance on data privacy and security matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Represent the company in discussions with government agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders on legal issues impacting the logistics and eCommerce sectors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on logistics and eCommerce.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial law, and regulations related to logistics and eCommerce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and provide timely legal advice and support to the organization.
