CLIENT : Dubai has been paving the way in the world of Fintech and Crypto recently, and this client sits at the forefront of innovation and regulatory issues.

ROLE : As a fast moving and changing sector, there’s no absolute set rules about the kind of work you’re going to tackle, but here are some examples of day to day tasks you’re likely to come across :

1. Drafting and maintaining regulatory rulebooks, directives, and guidance and creating appropriate framework to assess legal risks.
2. Create a tracker for regulatory changes required based on industry and stakeholder feedback.
3. Reviewing and advising on legal issues relating to the application of new laws and regulations.
4. Structuring, drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide array of commercial and regulatory agreements.
5. Legal research on key regulatory initiatives and benchmarking against global regimes.

CANDIDATE : There are some key criteria to be taken into consideration :

1. It’s essential that you’ve got excellent banking / finance / fintech services and products knowledge.
2. Your technical knowledge will need to be top class across digital assets, blockchain and payments.
3. Ideal candidates will have worked at either a top law firm or in-house environment, and preferably both.
4. You don’t have to be based in Dubai right now, but it’s clearly going to help (and overseas applications are of course welcomed).
