Job description

Job Purpose:
To support the Senior Manager Policy Advocacy in the policy advocacy function and activities which contribute in creating a favorable business environment in line with the Chamber's and Dubai Government's vision and strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities:
Policy Advocacy

  1. Undertake legal research and conduct international benchmarking.
  2. Assist with all tasks related to Policy Advocacy including analyzing issues, comparing, translating, interpreting advocacy and legal issues and reviewing drafts of new laws or amendments of existing laws.
  3. Manage communications, processes and execution of tasks related to Policy Advocacy with the relevant stakeholders including any relevant government entities.
  4. Assist in preparing department reports, processes and business plans and any other relevant administrative tasks.
  5. Work with any relevant internal and external committees regarding matters relating to the work of the department.
Information Security
Adherence to the information security policies/processes/program and for reporting any security breaches or incidents to the direct management.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
  1. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes and practices considering international leading practices to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  2. Provide critical input to support the development of Department's systems, policies, processes, and procedures to meet business requirements.
  3. Ensure team members comply with all Department's policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
  1. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality services.
Reporting
  1. Ensure that all departmental reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Dubai requirements, policies and quality standards.
Others
Other relevant tasks of the job purpose when, and if required.

Minimum Qualification:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Law
Minimum Experience and Skills:
  1. 2-3 years of experience in the same position with focus on local law, Civil law and Common law.
  2. Established knowledge of policy making and policy advocacy process.
  3. Experience in research and academic work related to commercial and economic laws and regulations.
  4. High command of English & Arabic (read, spoken, written).
