This position reports to

Regional General Counsel, IMEA

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible as a Legal counsel and member of the Process Automation Regional legal team in IMEA, to ensure support to the assigned Process Automation (PA) businesses. The work model for this role is onsite, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Developing close working relationships with the internal customers and stakeholders including the management.
2. Multiple jurisdictions experience and cross border legal support across the Process Automation Business Area.
3. Participating and giving assistance in contracts, agreements, consortium and JV.
4. Reviewing bids, negotiations, contracts, policies and other legal documents from vendors, customers and other third parties ensuring compliance with policies.
5. Supporting business in managing contractual claims.
6. Participating in and promoting activities ensuring employees conduct business in compliance with the directives and the local laws.
7. Implementing the compliance/integrity group program.
8. Providing training to employees on contractual matters.
9. Raising and defending litigation matters brought against the company using relevant external experts.
10. Ensuring that all external legal advice is provided in a cost-effective way.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor of Law degree from a reputable university.
• 10 years plus working experience in a major corporation and/or in a leading law firm.
• Demonstrable experience dealing with both common law and civil law issues.
• Self-motivated and able to progressively work with autonomy.
• Team-spirited, solution-oriented, and with a pragmatic approach.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work effectively with business clients.
• Must be fluent in English and Arabic.
