Job description

Position Overview

The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the legal department of ER Infrastructure, and will assist the Legal Counsel in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, organizing files, and maintaining records.

Roles and Responsibility

  • Legal Document Preparation: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Manage all invoices related to the legal department and the entries into SAP and liaise with Finance Department for payments (Experience with SAP and Oracle is required).
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research using various resources to support attorneys and legal staff in case preparation and strategy development.
  • File Management: Maintain and organize legal files and documents, ensuring they are accurately labeled, indexed, and stored securely.
  • Correspondence: Prepare and distribute correspondence, including letters, emails, and memos, on behalf of the legal department.
  • Calendar Management: Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and arrange conference calls.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, and relaying messages to attorneys.
  • Court Filings: Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of legal documents with courts, administrative agencies, and other parties as required.
  • Document Review: Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring legal and regulatory compliance, including researching and interpreting laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the legal department, including photocopying, scanning, faxing, and coordinating document delivery.
  • Perform any other task or participate to any other business as may be assigned.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.

Professional Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a legal assistant or in a similar role preferred.

Other Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
