Job Description

The University of Kalba is seeking to appoint a faculty member for teaching Math in the College of Arts, Sciences, Information Technology, and Communications / Computer Science Program. The ideal candidate should have a strong record of research in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, demonstrated through publications in high-impact journals. The successful applicant will actively contribute to the growth and development of the college, engaging in teaching, research, curriculum innovation, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan, prepare and deliver Math courses (Calculus I, Calculus II, Math for Business, etc.), schemes of work, and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, and existing knowledge of students.
2. Preferable Science Background in Physics and Chemistry.
3. Contribute to curricular design and assist in the development of syllabi, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, and teaching strategies in the department.
4. Undertake formative and summative assessments to ensure progress and implement interventions where required.
5. Mentor and advise students at all levels.
6. Use digital technologies to ensure an interactive learning environment.
7. Apply learning practices effectively.
8. Contribute to the department process of self-review, evaluation, and improvement planning activities.
9. Perform all assigned administrative tasks by the program/department, college, and university.
10. Engage in professional activities and community service.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Math specialization from an internationally recognized university.
2. One year of experience in teaching Math courses with preference to science background in Physics and Chemistry.
3. Proficiency in Arabic and English language.
