Job description

As a Leasing Consultant, you will be responsible for promoting and renting available residential or commercial properties to prospective tenants. You will manage the leasing process, from conducting property tours to processing applications and lease agreements, while maintaining excellent relationships with tenants and ensuring the property's occupancy rates remain high.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tenant Interaction:
    Greet prospective tenants, listen to their needs, and match them with appropriate available units.
    Conduct property tours and highlight the key features of the property to prospective tenants.
    Provide detailed information about the property, amenities, leasing terms, and neighborhood.
  2. Leasing Process:
    Assist in preparing and reviewing lease agreements with tenants.
    Process rental applications, perform background checks, and verify references.
    Ensure compliance with company policies, fair housing laws, and local regulations.
  3. Marketing & Advertising:
    Assist in marketing available units through various platforms (e.g., online listings, social media, property websites).
    Create promotional materials, such as brochures or flyers, to advertise vacant units.
    Maintain a good understanding of local rental market trends and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  4. Customer Service:
    Respond to tenant inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
    Follow up with potential tenants who have shown interest in available units.
    Foster positive relationships with current tenants to encourage lease renewals and referrals.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    Maintain accurate records of lease agreements, payments, and communication with tenants.
    Assist with rent collection and handle security deposit inquiries.
    Coordinate property showings, inspections, and move-in/move-out processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Proven experience in sales, customer service, or real estate.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to multitask and handle administrative duties efficiently.
  4. Knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage) is a plus.
  5. Basic understanding of leasing contracts, fair housing laws, and property maintenance procedures.
  6. Previous experience as a Leasing Consultant or in a real estate or property management role is a plus.
