Reinventing Short-Term Renting

SmartStay is a premium holiday homes company delivering short-term stays in Downtown Dubai and other prime locations. As we grow, we're not only enhancing the guest experience—we’re also building a culture of operational excellence across departments. To support this, we’re launching the SmartStay and BnB in Dubai Online Training Academy, and we’re looking for the right person to help make it a success.

The Role: Learning & Development Specialist

SmartStay is looking for a self-motivated Learning & Development Specialist to lead our internal knowledge management and training content creation. From onboarding flows to department-specific SOPs and training modules, you’ll be responsible for building our learning platform and ensuring information is clear, consistent, and easy to follow. This role involves coordinating cross-functionally, guiding content creation, and supporting video production for training purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and structure the SmartStay & BnB in Dubai Online Training Academy, aligning with departmental needs and company goals using Trainual and other tools.
  • Coordinate and assist in the documentation of SOPs across all departments to align with training material.
  • Proofread and edit written training content and SOPs for clarity, tone, and consistency.
  • Plan and implement onboarding pathways and training roadmaps for new and existing team members.
  • Develop high-quality training presentations and written content.
  • Assist in video content creation: scheduling shoots, coordinating presenters, and giving clear step-by-step guidance.
  • Perform basic video editing and formatting for easy learning and brand consistency.
  • Structure content into easy-to-follow lessons, with logical sequencing and user-friendly presentation.
  • Create knowledge checks and quizzes to assess comprehension and retention.
  • Provide regular feedback to supervisors and department heads on content improvement and presentation delivery.
  • Maintain and organize all materials in Trainual.
  • Track training engagement and performance; provide feedback to department heads for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent English communication and writing skills.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, e-learning content creation, or corporate training (hospitality experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency with tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, Photoshop, video editing software (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, or similar).
  • Familiarity with platforms like Trainual, Slack, Google Drive, and monday.com is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong planning and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for presentation, clarity, and learner experience.
