About the Company

Our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) facility at Al Reyadah captures 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) from Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) each year, supporting Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) in the Bab and Rumaitha oil fields, and is a critical enabler of ADNOC's 2030 sustainability goals.

About the Job

• Provides expert reservoir engineering input to multidisciplinary projects including field development planning, reservoir performance analyses, and reservoir estimation of production/injection capacities. Leads reservoir management studies, performance review, and optimization using appropriate techniques.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Carries out all aspects of reservoir management activities including field development, performance evaluation, formulating reservoir development, data acquisition, strategic surveillance, and monitoring master plans to ensure optimal development and depletion strategies, reservoir and asset evaluation, vertical and lateral communication well prognosis, and supervises the integration between fields.
• Identifies, justifies, develops, and implements workflows to evaluate and manage the field in line with industry best practices. Uses advanced reservoir-engineering techniques and integrates dynamic and static data to identify field movement and implement optimization plans to maximize profitable recovery, enhance both NPV and hydrocarbon recovery, and minimize UTC value.
• Governs field's production and injection capacities according to company objective guidelines along with drilling workover schedules and identifies mitigations in case of shortfalls.
• Identifies workflows to carry out pattern balancing and ensures efficient production and injection processes to maximize vertical and lateral sweep efficiency. Leads, designs, and participates in integrated field reviews and field development plans (RMP considering the current wells and planned infill wells).
• Designs, leads, and integrates feedback from simulation engineers to improve well sector and full field development performance review.
• Designs and leads the implementation of project surveillance programs including pressure transient surveys, tracer surveys, interference testing, observation well placement, and cased hole logging programs.
• Provides expertise to identify and support reservoir-engineering studies using appropriate techniques, which may include reservoir simulation, material balance, and decline curve analysis.
• Conducts open-hole and cased-hole logs, completion, and production procedures and technologies.
• Prepares reservoir-engineering and planning overview input into drilling and work-over proposals and programs (E-Prognosis).
• Follows up on RE requirements in exploration wells during drilling and updates the plan as Formation Pressure Test log (XPT) to confirm fluid contact and gradients and fluid properties.

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for the preparation of the Department/Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved budget, and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
• Implement approved Department/Section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support execution of the Department/Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department/Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with the ADNOC Onshore/ADNOC HSE procedure requirements.
• Report all incidents and occupational illnesses to the line supervisor.
• If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, immediately consult their line supervisor.
• Carry out emergency responsibilities in line with the respective roles as per the emergency organization.
• Be familiar with the ADNOC HSE Recognition and Accountability Framework requirements. Comply with all applicable HSE requirements at all times. Exercise the STOP Work Authority bestowed if any unsafe act or situation puts you or your colleagues at risk.

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Reservoir/Petroleum/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 6-8 years of experience in reservoir engineering including oil and gas fields' development management and Full Field simulation studies, specializing in reservoir management.
