Position Overview: The Lead Subsea & Sealine Design Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing a range of technical activities related to subsea pipelines and umbilicals, ensuring high-quality engineering design and analysis. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in offshore pipeline engineering is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
Develop design basis for subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
Perform route selection for subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
Conduct wall thickness design for subsea pipelines.
Perform on-bottom stability analysis and design stabilization measures.
Conduct cathodic protection design for subsea pipelines.
Perform end expansion calculations for subsea pipelines.
Carry out free span and on-bottom roughness analyses for subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
Shore and Protection Studies:
Design shore approaches for subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
Conduct dropped object protection studies for subsea assets.
Advanced Engineering Studies:
Perform global buckling analysis, walking screening studies, and detailed finite element (FE) analysis.
Conduct pipe-soil interaction studies based on geotechnical surveys.
Execute steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis.
Installation and Risk Assessments:
Carry out preliminary pipeline and umbilical installation analyses.
Perform route risk assessments and pipeline risk evaluations.
Special Studies and Reports:
Conduct pipeline pigging assurance studies.
Develop study findings and reports for client review and approval.
Documentation and Specifications:
Prepare detailed specifications, material requisitions, and drawings for subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
Generate comprehensive material take-offs (MTOs).
Site Visits:
Conduct site visits, including field surveys, and prepare detailed visit reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: Minimum 12 years in offshore pipeline and subsea engineering.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in subsea pipeline and umbilical design, analysis, and installation methods.
Software Skills: Advanced knowledge of engineering tools and software for finite element analysis, hydraulic studies, and pipeline stability.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess pipeline integrity, route risks, and operational reliability.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and engaging with clients.
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
