To independently define the concepts and prepare the critical engineering deliverables of Structural Engineering Jacket Transportation & Installation engineering manage and deliver the engineering deliverables for the assigned project effectively and efficiently according to the specified technical requirements, timelines, and budget and independently resolve all issues of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Policies Processes & Procedures:
Implements approved departmental policies processes procedures and provides instructions to Project Management Team and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner. - Device and implement controls to ensure no violation of ISR regulations to protect the company information/intellectual properties.
- Day-to-day operations:
Be fully familiar with the project scope of work specifications schedule and all interdiscipline requirements including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues. - Carry out Structural discipline work within a project team supporting the project team to ensure the timely deliverables as per schedule and adhering to international standards/local regulations.
- Plan, budget, organize, and control a segment of the Structural engineering deliverables for the project.
- Strong knowledge on the foundation design for Jacket Structures Interpretation of soil data pile drivability studies boat impact etc.
- Design of Jacket appurtenances Transport and Installation appurtenances Grillage/Seafasteners.
- Understanding the Transportation and Installation requirements and ensuring the Jacket/Topside Design is meeting the T&I subcontractors requirements.
- Ensuring close interactions between the engineering design and fabrication and the design developed is compatible to the fabrication schedule/costing.
- Interface with other departments to obtain input for discipline design and drawings.
- Provide direction and guidance on all Structural engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
- Prepare/Review Discipline engineering design basis MTO drawings and technical specifications as required.
- Prepare and review design reports and procedures.
- Prepare/Review Weight Control Procedures/Report.
- Maintain close coordination with other engineering disciplines planning fabrication Marine and project management team as required.
- Liaise with the Client’s Engineering Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
- Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceeding with their deliverables.
- Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
- Coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development construction pre-commissioning and startup.
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to Structural engineering design.
- Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
- Record the lessons learned from previous contracts in order to implement corrections in future contracts.
- Plan and maintain manpower and other resources required for smooth operation of the Structural team for project and tender execution.
- Estimate manhours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the activities assigned to Structural discipline subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific project of Structural engineering activity is carried out in accordance.
- Travel short term or long term as per project requirements within or outside UAE adhere to DDWD travel or relocation policy as applicable.
Continuous Improvement:
Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems processes and practices taking into account international best practice improvement of business processes cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Reporting:
Prepares departmental and project reports on time and accurately to meet company and department requirements policies and standards. Prepare weekly reports on discipline update to DDW internal and other reporting as per project demand.

Responsible to comply with relevant safety quality and environmental management policies procedures and controls and to behave in a manner which ensures that their actions or omissions do not adversely affect the environment health safety and wellbeing of themselves colleagues contractors or members of the public.

Conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
Reporting to Line Manager / Safety Inspector promptly regarding incidents hazards unsafe plant equipment or other safety concerns.
STOP any worker performing an unsafe act and reinforce positive attitude amongst work force.

Key Competencies
- Language skills:
Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of additional languages are added advantage. - Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.
- Technical competencies:
Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Structural Codes & standards Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards. - Broad technical knowledge of engineering & designing of Jacket Structures in basic detail and closeout engineering.
- Strong know-how in 2GW projects in European Offshore Substation projects.
- Good knowledge on the Transportation and Installation Engineering of offshore Jackets/Topsides and associated engineering.
- Project management skills.
