The Lead Solution Architect will be responsible for leading the estimation process for automation and WHCP projects. This role involves detailed analysis of project requirements, interpretation of technical drawings, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure precise and competitive cost estimates. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge in automation and WHCP systems, exceptional analytical abilities, and strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management :
Lead the estimation team in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for automation and WHCP projects.
Mentor and train junior estimation engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including materials, in house effort estimation, equipment, and other associated costs.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Utilize advanced estimation software and tools to create precise and comprehensive estimates.
Cost Analysis :
Conduct thorough cost analysis using historical data, market trends, and vendor quotations to support estimation and pricing strategies.
Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions to optimize project budgets.
Collaboration and Communication :
Work closely with engineering, procurement, and sales teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to obtain competitive quotations and ensure alignment with project specifications.
Present estimates to management and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for estimated costs.
Documentation and Reporting :
Prepare and maintain detailed estimation documentation, including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and basis of estimates.
Generate comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Stay updated with industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices in automation and WHCP estimation.
Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements in future estimation processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related field) or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 14+ years of experience in cost estimation within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on automation and WHCP systems.
Proven leadership experience in managing estimation teams and projects.
In-depth understanding of automation systems and WHCP technologies.
Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to analyze complex data sets and market trends to inform cost estimation.
