Job description

Job Title: Lead/Senior Project Engineer

Reports To: Project Manager

Overall Purpose of Role:

Lead Project Engineer plans, coordinates, and monitors a project from the initial conception to the schedule and final completion, playing a key supporting role to the Project Manager to ensure that assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and on budget in accordance with the contract and Lamprell Group Management System (LGMS).

Primary Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities:

  1. In conjunction with the HSES and yard management teams, ensure that all aspects of the project are executed safely and ensure compliance with HSES responsibilities.
  2. In conjunction with the HSES team, ensure that project risk assessments are carried out as necessary.
  3. In conjunction with the project Quantity Surveyor or Contract Administrator, ensure an effective cost code structure is used to allocate and monitor budgets, timely and accurate invoicing and payment from the Client, and that monthly cost reports are accurately prepared in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure that all activities relating to the project are properly planned and that the plans and responsibilities therein are passed to and understood by all concerned parties.
  5. Ensure, in conjunction with the Procurement Supply Chain group, that all materials and equipment (including FIM and OFE) are procured and delivered in accordance with the project's contract requirements.
  6. Ensure that the project schedule and resource plans are properly prepared in accordance with the contract requirements and monitor the project to ensure its timely completion.
  7. In conjunction with the production team, ensure that labor resources are effectively and efficiently utilized in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
  8. Manage all project costs against the project budget and allocate resource allowances to other company functions including production, engineering, and QA/QC to ensure that costs are controlled and efficiencies maximized.
  9. In accordance with the LGMS, prepare a project risk management plan and manage risks throughout the project.
  10. Manage the change management process with the clients, subcontractors, vendors, and Lamprell stakeholders.
  11. Effectively manage the project team including personnel seconded to the project team from functional groups and ensure effective communication.
  12. Ensure after review that all project/contract deliverables are properly submitted to the client in a timely manner.
  13. Prepare and present reports relating to the project as required to Senior Management.
  14. Arrange and chair project meetings, internal and external, as necessary to ensure the effective management of the project.
  15. Ensure that all project-related activities are carried out in accordance with the LGMS.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Engineering graduation certificate.
  2. Overall minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, modifications & maintenance of Well control equipment, and minimum 5 years Aramco experience.
  3. Knowledge of QS, Cost control, Production, and Engineering.
  4. Good communication and coordination with clients and other departments.
  5. Sound knowledge of Class regulations, ISO 9001, API Q1, 4F, and 16C standards.
